If thoughts are building blocks of life, then it stands to reason that we should pay attention to what we think, because consistent thoughts on any subject will tend to create our results. So, what steps can we take to align our thinking with the things we truly want out of life? There are a few things you can do:-) Here we go:
1. Paying attention to how you feel
Your emotions are perfect vibrational indicators of your state of attraction. They tell you exactly what kind of a thought you’re thinking or what kind of an image you have going through your mind right now. By paying attention to your emotions and noticing that you feel less then good in any moment, you can choose to shift that by simply choosing different thoughts.
Little by little, you will shift your vibration, focusing your thoughts in a more positive direction and this will definitely change your point of attraction, bringing more wonderful things into your life.
2. Affirming what you would like to experience
Affirmations are statements that tell our subconscious mind what it is we want it to focus on and accept as our personal truth. Whenever you feel less than good, notice what kind of a thought you’ve been thinking, let it go and use an affirmation to over-ride that thought and replace it with a more positive one. This will let your subconscious know that there’s a new boss in town and things are going to be a bit different from now on.
You might have had a thought to the effect of:”It won’t work for me. I shouldn’t get my hopes up. I always fail at xyz.” Right then and there, acknowledge the thought you were having and say to yourself that it may have been true in the past, but it isn’t true NOW. Affirm several times:“I always succeed at xyz and things go right for me all along the way.”
You can use the affirmations all throughout your day, including when you wake up, in the afternoon and right before you fall asleep.
3. Visualize yourself in your desired state
Maybe you want more money, a loving relationship or great health – seeing the absence of it all day long really doesn’t help you get its opposite. To go the extra mile and fully implant your subconscious mind with your preferred state of affairs, visualization can achieve that.
By creating an image of what you want, impressing it in your mind and fully experiencing it, as if it were completely real, you help your mind know what it should focus on. It helps the process if you feel the emotion of having/doing/being while visualizing.
4. Be grateful & appreciative
Gratitude and appreciation are probably the strongest tools for attracting great things in your life. When you come from an appreciative state, where you notice all the great things that are currently in your life, you simply attract more into your life. More thoughts of appreciation lead to more things to appreciate, which leads to more thoughts of appreciation that lead to more things to appreciate, which leads to…oh, you get the idea!
You can start right now, by finding something you feel good about in your life and tell yourself what you like about it, why you’re grateful for it and so on.
5. Let go of unwanted emotions
When you visualize, use affirmations, do lists of things to appreciate or whenever you try to focus on the things you want in any way, you might experience some thoughts and feelings to the contrary. This is just the resistance to the things you want, coming to the surface and telling you you don’t believe what you’re saying, you don’t deserve what you want and so on.
Instead of ignoring these thoughts and feelings, which will only make them go deeper and become stronger, you could try welcoming them and acknowledging their existence. At that point, when you’re not fighting them and suppressing them, you can allow yourself to release them.
More on these 5 things in the posts to follow:-)

Gosh. I was going through Joe Vitale’s blog and came across your comment, so I checked your blog also.
I just HAD to read this. God sent, Allah sent, Divine sent, whichever as long as it’s sent!
I’ll bookmark this so I can revisit it, especially when I want to practice some of the things you wrote here. Thank you!
Hi David,
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it greatly:-)
Hope to see you again!

On this 5th thought, I am just finding that if I look at bad feelings and try to be impersonal about it, but not stuffing it. I really am able to look at what is going on and to release the feelings more easily. I know they are just feelings and they will change all of the time.
