The Truth Of Your Being & Why Positive Thinking, Affirmations And Visualization Don’t Work For You

Unlock your prosperity

In the last post, I told you that we don’t need to do affirmations or visualize because we have to program ourselves for success – we do it because we have to de-program ourselves from failure. The truth of your being is this: Your core is one of abundance, prosperity and joy. You are already programmed for success & you are supposed to achieve things effortlessly.

The catch is, of course, that we have been conditioned to think in an opposite way, to manifest mediocrity and struggle into our lives. So, any technique you might apply in your personal development, you are actually using to uncover who you really are.

So, why do we usually fail, no matter what technique we use? First, lets see what are some of the things that happen when we visualize, use affirmations, meditate and use subliminal audios:

1) We activate the resistant thoughts & their vibration

Whenever you affirm that you are rich, and the physical world is proof of otherwise, you will activate resistant thoughts within you, the ones you’ve been thinking over and over, that you are actually poor and have a hard time making money or manifesting prosperity. This will usually be accompanied by negative emotion, so you’ll clearly know that something isn’t right.

2) We make an impact

This impact may be compared to a sledge hammer hitting a clay statue, which it will easily shatter, or a drop of water hitting a rock on the ground, making no visible impact on it. Depending on what kind of beliefs you are up against, as well as how “spot on” is the technique you are using, will determine what kind of an impact you have.

So, why do we fail? Here are the main reasons why affirmations or any other techniques might not accomplish results in your life:

1) Not enough persistence

Persistence conquers all. The main reason for not making significant change in your life will most always be a lack of persistence. No matter how good the technique you’re using is, or how big of an issue you’re dealing with is, persistent action and application will produce results. It’s the law of karma at work – cause and effect. Do it long enough, and you will affect change.

2) Not hitting the right target (not paying attention to how you feel)

You might be affirming that “money comes easily”, but you have a subconscious belief that money is bad. Maybe its mixed with feeling of guilt or resentment towards somebody. In such cases, your affirmations may be hitting the wrong target, so even though you affirm what you want, the real issue is not in the opposite of what you are affirming, but in something else.

This is not as big of a problem as it may seem, because if you learn to pay attention to how you feel, you can make progress even with inappropriate affirmations. As you do them, thoughts and feeling will come up that you can look at and release. Also, persistence goes a long way here :)

3) Things get worse, not better

This is one of the most common things why people give up on personal development. Instead of getting better, things get even worse and people think that what they are doing is really rubbish. What people fail to understand is that things got worse because they took action and because they did the work. It means that the work they did triggered and activated some not so pleasant vibrations in them, causing them to manifest some not so pleasurable things.

This is actually a good thing, because it means that the affirmations or visualization pushed the right buttons and the limiting beliefs pushed back, feeling threatened. Again, persistence is necessary here.

So, how to go about this? Well, we talked about releasing in the last post. Whenever something comes up in the form of a negative emotion or resistant thought, we deal with it.

Tomorrow, I’ll show you 2 great ways to release resistance fast and make real progress with your prosperity and abundance.

Until then,

    Hey Josip,

Great post topic and writing style.

    Re: ‘Persistence conquers all’.

I have found this to be evident in any area. Coolidge has a wonderful quote that encapsulates this idea well:
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated failures. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
    Calvin Coolidge

    Live it LOUD!

    • Hi Rob,

The quote is spot-on! I can see from my life that it never mattered WHAT I did as much as it mattered HOW I did it – was I determined and persistent, or quick to fold and quit?

Thanks for stopping by and thank you for your kind words!

      Cheers,

      Josip

  3. Josip!

This is an excellent post. Just last week I saw REAL improvement in my Body – an illness that I had been dealing with for months DISAPPEARED…and I stopped the affirmation…and it returned quickly…Persistence is needed even after we get the thing we affirm, then. One thing I learned recently is this “sew sporadically, reap sporadically; sew consistently, reap consistently.” It is a mistake to reach a certain point and then stop.. Jim Rohn shared this idea.. “take maybe a day..but don’t rest too long because that’s when weeds set in…that’s when the weakness begins!”

Thanks Josip! I enjoyed this post – I love your blog! Peace. :)

    • Hi Ayodele,

Yes, I’ve experienced something similar many times. When I worked in insurance, I had a period of great abundance, and I stopped all my inner discipline because “I made it”, and the vibration of wealth and prosperity that I temporarily achieved didn’t stick and I fell back into tough times.

The key is to persist until that which you are trying to affirm or establish within yourself becomes truth, completely, both inside and out!

Thank you for your insight – I appreciate it!

      All the best :)

      Josip

Your article here is definitely based a lot on what I have experienced in the last year. I found out I have a lung disease that could be killing me and I definitely fell into the trap of “Things are gettign worse, not better.” It’s a hard thought process to shake but I finally have started to. Oddly enough I just started a blog series called Living Life With a Major Illness and it kind of highlights how I’ve personally stayed strong. Here is the direct link to it: http://danielmeyerblog.com/self-help/living-life-with-a-major-illness-part-1

Keep up the great writing and I’ll check back often!

if people noticed why they failed in past experiences ,it’s simply

Thank you for this post. I have been very disciplined and persistent with the above you mentioned, visualization, afffirmations, meditation etc. and found things to be changing but painfully slow. I attracted different things to me that introduced me to the Law of Attraction and more freedom in my life but something was not right. I now realize that there were many beliefs, fears, judgments of myself that have been preventing my access to abundance in all areas. I feel this is very important. I am very happy to know that there is a way to clear emotions, beliefs etc.. that are not serving me. I have been working with EFT and find it very helpful.

  7. Josip, I just finished reading your ebook on linkbuilding and I’ll be trying most of your techniques. Here goes.
    thanks
